Do we have to recycle?
Yes! Oregon Statutes require all state agencies to follow the recycling policies established by the Department of Administrative Services. The Oregon Recycling Act of 1991 (known as Senate Bill 66) further requires state agencies to purchase recycled goods and supplies in order to create a market for the products we recycle.
How can my agency begin recycling?
Start by calling the State of Oregon Recycling Program to find out what your agency can recycle. You will receive information explaining different methods of collecting recycling. (503) 373-7132
Do staples and paper clips need to be removed?
NO! Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed from paper before recycling. Screening devices remove metal fragments during the recycling process. Please reuse the paper clips!
